Live, Laugh, Love…

I had an old board lying around.  So I covered it with newspaper and mod podge.

Then I cut out some letters.

After mod podging on the letters, I then applied some paint.  Above is the end result… what do you think?

I’ve got a lot on my plate…

No really, I do.  I have a lot on my plate!  I put it there myself.

I went to the ceramics shop and bought myself a plate… then I put a lot on it.

Yes, I am goofy.  :-)  …but I think my dinnerware should make me smile and I just couldn’t find anything funky enough for me, so I started painting my own plates.  It’s a slow process… mostly because I am cheap and the plates are not!

Family 12×12 Canvas…

This thing must be pretty cute.  Everyone is asking me to do one now…  Maybe I can make enough $ to keep myself in craft supplies!  :-)  It’s just acrylic on a 12×12 canvas.  If you are serious about wanting one, just let me know!  I can change it in any way you want… make it bigger, smaller, whatever!

Keirsten’s “All About Me” Book…

This is something I made a while back.  I had all of these old books… most of them are just going to get thrown away because the information in them is soooo out of date, but being a librarian, I just hate seeing them get pitched.  So…. I took paint, glue and scrapbook paper and made Keirsten a journal!  She loved it!  (Although, I’m not sure she’s done anything with it after those first few days!)

Her "secret" compartment!

There are no bangle bracelets for “Big Girls”…

They say necessity is the Mother of Invention.  Well, I believe it.  I have been looking for a bangle bracelet to fit me for a long time.  I might as well have been looking for bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster.  So… I decided I’d try to make one.

I didn’t take pictures of the step by step because I thought it would probably be a massive failure… but it wasn’t.  Basically, this bracelet started out with a piece of cardboard, some mod podge and a bunch of newspaper.  Then I painted it.  I’m gonna try one with pictures next… I’ll try to take step by step pics this time.

Not Goodbye, just see you later…

A friend of mine at work is leaving to go to another school in the district.  I’m sad to see her go, so I made her a parting gift.  She loves bright colors…. (particularly, lime green) and owls, so I made her a mixed media piece (also known as some scrapbook paper, markers and a page out of an old book that was going to get thrown away).  Here’s the end result.

Chalkboard paint revisited…

I had all this chalkboard paint left over.  I had a big blank wall in my laundry room.  Put the two together on Memorial Day when I’m home and bored and this is what you get. 🙂 I just freehanded the shape on to the wall, so it’s a long way from perfect.
